PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of purchasing disciplines.
More specifically, you will:
Develop and maintain excellent supplier relationships to ensure favorable terms, desired quality and prompt delivery.
Implement best practices. Design and implement new processes based on system-generated information. Work towards a
synergistic supply chain model where all links in the chain are visible within the ERP system.
Provide expertise and direction on use of proper tools (Kanban, order point, bin stock, etc.) to match various lead times of
products / parts to meet customer commitments and minimize cost and inventory.
Rationalize the supply base to best-in-class suppliers, capable of year cost and process improvement.
Analyze consumption trends, plan complex and/or long-lead items, and drive material / Kanban set-up for anticipated
customer requirements Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with internal customers, interfacing
departments, and key supplier contacts to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Pursue self-improvement by attending seminars, college courses, and/or professional association programs.
Operate the purchasing software system and all required Microsoft applications.
Model and promote the SPX Flow Leadership Standards to create an environment that mobilizes empowered people to
achieve business goals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
CPM/CPIM certification preferred.
3 to 5 years of experience as a buyer, including buying product, working with suppliers, cutting purchase orders, etc.
ERP experience is preferred; SAP would be ideal.
Negotiation experience is highly desirable.
Manufacturing/industrial engineering buying experience is a plus.
